CAMPING IN A RAV4
It’s not perfect..
But it works for me!! 😴🙏🏼
My husband and I have been camping in the back of our 2016 Toyota RAV4 for ~4 years now!
We started by using our backpacking sleeping pads in the back and recently upgraded to the @expedusa megamat 10 🙏🏼
The seats don’t lay down completely flat and window covers is still on my to-buy list 😅
But it’s comfy, quiet and safe!!
I keep my food + cooler up front, leave the driver’s seat empty (in case i need to make a quick escape) and lock all the doors. 🔒
And I always keep the windows cracked for air flow 💨

I HATE BACKPACKING Okay, maybe “hate” is a st

I HATE BACKPACKING
Okay, maybe “hate” is a strong word... but let’s be real, backpacking can be sooo uncomfortable 🤪
On this particular trip, I made several mistakes:
1. The backpack was too big for me.
It was too big on my body AND it was a large backpack (65 liters), meaning I could fill it full of stuff… 🫢
2. I overpacked like crazy.
All the clothes and a giant Rumpl blanket... I went a bit overboard 🙈
3. I didn’t bring a water filter.
If I hadn’t been camping with expert backpacker @grizelcaminas, I would have been out of luck. Thanks for keeping me alive, Griz!! 🫡
All of those “uncomfortable” moments taught me valuable lessons. 📝
Since then, I downsized my bag (55 Liters), mastered minimal packing, and picked up a water filter.
The truth is, backpacking may push your limits, but it also pushes you to grow. 🫶🏼
It’s all about embracing the discomfort, learning those lessons, and coming out on the other side with a desire to do it all over again. 🤪
