Hello friends,
1. I hope this newsletter finds you noticing little signs of spring! With the equinox this week, I thought I’d have more clarity on my goals for the year – but honestly? I don’t. Not even a little. 🤪
2. With everything happening in the U.S., it’s hard to think beyond the week ahead. It feels like so much of what we love is at risk – from our public lands to our education system to the rights and safety of our BIPOC and LGBTQ+ friends, etc… It’s overwhelming, heartbreaking, and heavy. How can I possibly plan past this week??
Psst! Consider taking 5 minutes to call your representatives and speak up for our public lands! I added a script you can reference to support our national parks and another script for the proposed logging of our forests.
3. Someone recently asked me how I balance joy with everything happening. I keep coming back to gratitude. Because if I’m not careful, I’ll overlook the good – the safe home, the loving partner, the friends I trust, the privilege of an able body – and let fear pull me down, down, down.
So, every morning, the second I open my eyes, I name five things I’m grateful for! And when anxiety starts creeping in, threatening to paralyze me, I return to gratitude. And I go outside. I believe gratitude and time spent connecting with nature will carry us through the next four years.
4.
Later this week, I’m tackling this small batch crusty bread for two recipe!
10. For a little kitty update – they are both doing well! There’s still no thoughts behind those sweet eyes!
Sending love! Jacey
