Please Go Touch Grass | Adventurous Homebody Club

Hi friends!

1. I hope this email finds you rested, hydrated, and taking care of yourself! And happy Pisces season! Now through March 20 is the time for introspection, spiritual connection, and getting creative.

I’m using this time to set my intentions for the rest of the year… though, if I’m being honest, I have no idea what I’m doing. 😅

2. What have I been doing since I last emailed you?

I took a solo trip south to Tucson, Arizona to visit friends and explore the Tucson Gem Show! I shopped for some big crystals at the Kino Show and found gorgeous baskets and textiles at the African Art Village. The best part was catching up with friends — staying with a few and even squeezing in a night hike in Sabino Canyon. I hardly took any photos on this trip, I was too busy basking in the energy of the amazing friends I have!

3. I also finished another silversmithing piece — my first cuff bracelet! It’s a split design featuring a turquoise cabochon from Turquoise Mountain.

I’m very proud of my work and love the craft of silversmithing but I’m getting ready to hit pause on this new hobby… I need to find something less expensive. 😅

4. Besides silversmithing and therapy, I’ve been doing some hiking around the Superstition Mountains. Every time I’m on the trail, I’m reminded how grateful I am to have access to the outdoors.

Nature is essential to every single human on this planet. That’s why it’s been devastating to see public lands at risk of losing federal protections and to hear about massive layoffs in the National Park Service, which will have lasting impacts on the parks we all love.

5. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by everything happening in the world right now. I saw someone suggest choosing just two causes to focus on, and I love this approach — it allows you to take action without burning out.

6. For me, public land protection is always a priority. Access to these spaces for education, recreation, and mental and physical well-being should be for everyone — not just the wealthy or corporations.

To take action, I signed this petition to reverse staffing cuts at land management agencies, and I referenced 5 Calls to call my congressmen – It only took six minutes to leave three voicemails!
7. This wouldn’t be an Adventurous Homebody Club newsletter without a gentle nudge to be mindful of what you are consuming online

How is social media impacting your well-being? When was the last time you took a week off of scrolling? What do you want your relationship with social media to look like this year? (These are all questions I’ve been working on answering myself, haha.)

8. My therapist recently gave me an exercise I’ve been clinging to:

The next time you read something that triggers a negative response, close the app, go outside, and physically touch the earth. Our planet is filled with grounding, positive energy — it helps regulate your nervous system.

So, catch me touching grass every hour on the hour for the next four years. 😅

9.
10. I know we haven’t all met in real life, but I’ve had the chance to meet some of you — and every time, I’m humbled by the kindness, intelligence, and all-around badassery in this community.

Just know that I think about y’all all the time, and I’m so grateful for your support.
Sending love! Jacey
