My Week In Seattle with REI | Adventurous Homebody Club

Hello friend!

1. I hope your week is off to a good start! Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting a couple members of the Adventurous Homebody Club in real life, and it got me thinking about something I wanted to share with you.

2. I write this newsletter with former 9-5 Jacey in mind. Back when I worked in an office, fun and inspiring newsletters were my favorite way to sneak in a quick break during the workday. Now, I write this for all my friends still in an office, in an effort to give you a little on-the-clock mental escape. 😉

If you have any favorite newsletters that give you that same feeling, please send them my way! I’m always looking for inspiration.

3. I did it. I filmed, edited and published an imperfect YouTube video! In this video, I pack my (carry-on only) bags for an adventurous week in Seattle! With the help from my assistants, of course. 🐱

This is a scary step towards my dreams and it gave me a bit of a vulnerability hangover, haha. Let me know what you think!

4. Last week, I had the opportunity to join REI on a media trip to Seattle, Washington. They hosted me for four days, where I connected with the REI Co-op teams, toured their archives and test lab, went on a guided hike, and got a sneak peek at gear coming in 2025!

5. This trip has been a dream of mine for years! I’m incredibly grateful to REI for the opportunity and so proud of the work I’ve put in to earn an invite. It was so nice to finally meet the people I’ve been collaborating with for the past three years and have real, face-to-face conversations about the outdoor industry, social media, sustainability, community, and everything in between.
6. The best part of the trip (besides geeking out over their top-secret product testing lab) was just being in the Pacific Northwest! This was my second time in Seattle, and both times, I’ve been blessed with perfect weather — it’s tempting to pack up and move, haha.

While there, we went on one hike, Rattlesnake Ridge, which was absolutely stunning. The ferns, the slugs, the moody PNW vibes — 10/10 would recommend!

8. I’ll be honest — going on this trip with a group of strangers was a bit intimidating. But I’ve found that the outdoors is great at bringing everyone together. We all share a love for being outside, which made conversations flow so easily!

9. I recently shared a post about friendships and the outdoors, and it’s so true — nature helps us build stronger connections. When we’re outside, the distractions fade, stress melts away, and we’re more present with each other.

And looking back, every meaningful relationship I’ve developed has been nurtured through time spent outdoors. So, go for that group hike you’ve been considering, join a trip with people you’ve never met, or ask a friend to go on a hike instead of grabbing lunch.

10. As you read this, I’m exploring Yellowstone National Park with my friend MJ! 🤗 Don’t forget to spend some time outside today!
