It’s Hard Being A Crybaby | Adventurous Homebody Club

Hello friend,

1. I hope you’re doing well and enjoying fall in your corner of the world! Thank you so much for being gracious with my little break last week! I finally feel rested and re-centered after all my travels — and, of course, getting back to therapy.

2. Like I mentioned last week, I could not travel full-time! I love travel and adventure but it triggers my fight-or-flight and makes me SO tired.

I wanted to share a few things I do post-travel to help me recover, find balance, and settle back into my routine:

  • Cuddle the cats — They are the purest form of love, and I can’t get enough kitty cuddles.
  • Stretch & move my body — I don’t think I’ve mentioned this in a newsletter before, but I stretch daily. I spend at least 20 minutes on my yoga mat, breathing into my muscles and loosening up all the tension. I love a Yoga With Adriene video!
  • Clean my home — Dom keeps the house clean while I’m away, but there’s something about coming home, cooking in my own kitchen, doing laundry, and organizing that makes me feel grounded again.

3. Another big part of my post-travel recovery routine is crying. And it sounds funny to say, but I’ve been practicing allowing myself to cry more this year. If you’ve seen me at all in 2024, chances are you’ve seen me cry, haha. It’s just so healing!

4. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or like the world is a lot (because, let’s be real, it is), I want to gently remind you that it’s okay to cry about it. Sometimes, we all need a good release!! If you need some good crying music, the Taylor Swift But Only Fall Vibes playlist is doing it for me. 🫶🏼

5.

6. I’m so excited to report that we survived the hottest Arizona summer on record! It was brutal, but I can finally feel my will to live (and my creativity) returning now that it’s cooling off. I’ve planned several desert camping trips, and I couldn’t be more excited to spend time outdoors again.

7. Speaking of creativity, I started a new hobby! Remember last year when I took that ceramics class? Well, I’m onto something new: silversmithing! I just started an 8-week class and had my first session last week. We will be making rings this week, and I’m SO excited! I’ve got all my supplies and stones ready, so I’ll keep you posted on my progress.

8. I’m so sorry but I’m one of those weirdos that LOVES candy corn. 🤭

9. I can’t believe Halloween is this week?! It kind of snuck up on me and I feel bad, I didn’t even think to get Toasty a costume! I got Kelso his first Halloween costume last year, here he is — my little bat man!

10. For my U.S. friends — if you haven’t already, don’t forget to vote!

Sending love! Jacey
