Crop tops have become my daily uniform; I practically live in them! Whether I’m hiking, camping, doing pilates, running errands, or just lounging around, they are my go-to choice. I even used to wear them as a bra under my work clothes when I had an office job! It’s safe to say, I wear one of these tops every day.
Here’s a rundown of my favorite crop tops, sorted in brand order:
Note on sizing: I wear my normal size, Medium, in all of these crop tops!

The crop tops from Girlfriend Collective are the best all-around option. Their material is thick and durable, providing the support I need for various activities.
Both of my favorites, the Dylan Tank Bra and the Paloma Bra have a built-in support band that is incredibly comfortable. They are versatile, great for layering, and surprisingly soft. I’ve worn at least one of my Girlfriend Collective bras a week since 2020 and they have held up great in the washing machine.
Bonus points for being sustainably made!
Cons: None
Beyond Yoga tops boast the softest fabric, and their crop tops have proven to be exceptionally durable. They are super comfortable and their versatility allows me to wear them on various occasions, from hiking and camping to dressing up for a night out. The Slim Racerback Cropped Tank Top is a staple in my wardrobe and I love the Spacedye Focus Cropped Tank for its high neckline.
Cons: Expensive, not super supportive

For budget-friendly options, the OFFLINE By Aerie The Hugger Longline Racerback Sports Bra is my top pick. It’s the most affordable crop top in my collection, often priced around $20 during sales. The minimal design and built-in shelf bra make it perfect for hiking, everyday wear, and layering under shirts and blouses.
Cons: It’s not the most supportive
The REI Co-op Active Pursuits Ribbed Bra Top has to be my favorite crop top for hiking!
It has a nice, supportive band and a flattering seam along the sides. The high neckline keeps sun off my chest, which is essential in the southwest! I love the ribbed fabric – it preforms great on the trail and looks great for casual wear with shorts or skirts!
If I had to pick one crop top out of all I’ve shared, the Vuori Halo Preformance Crop Top is my favorite! It’s soft, has a built-in bra with removable cups, and hits at the perfect length for my high-waisted shorts. The straps add a fun and stylish element, elevating it beyond the typical sports bra level.
Another one of my favorite bras from Vuori is the Rib Crop Tank Top. It’s cute, flattering and great for casual outings and low key activities (like camping). Although it has a built-in shelf bra, it has long-straps and a very low-cut neckline – it might not be the best fit for my petite friends.
Cons: The straps are really long, causing the neckline to be super low-cut.
